Deputy PM: Railway connection with Iran among Armenia's prioritiesMay 12, 2022 - 10:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan has said that establishing a railway connection between Armenia and Iran is among Yerevan's priorities. Grigoryan made the remarks at the 17th meeting of the Armenian-Iranian intergovernmental commission in Yerevan Wednesday, May 11. "We attach great importance to agreements reached in the field of energy and transport, in particular, on the extension of the contract for gas and electricity swap deal, the establishment of the North-South quadrilateral energy connection and the Persian Gulf-Black Sea international transport corridor," Grugoryan said. "I would like to emphasize the fact that as a result of the work of our expert groups, further guidelines for cooperation between our two countries in a number of areas have been developed. Both sides have expressed readiness to develop cooperation in the fields of trade, industry, healthcare, education, culture, tourism, agriculture and high technologies." Grigoryan noted that Armenia is constantly making efforts to promote Iran's integration into the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
