Armenia, Iran negotiating new gas-for-energy swap dealMay 14, 2022 - 13:41 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia and Iran are negotiating a new a swap deal by which Iran sends gas to Armenia and receives electricity in return. The matter was on the table at a meeting between Armenia's Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan and Head of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Majid Chegeni. Sanosyan thanked the Iranian side for the increase in gas volumes imported since May. The parties also weighed in on a number of issues of mutual interest and agreed to continue discussions during Sanosyan's upcoming three-day trip to the Islamic Republic.
