Drafting of Armenia's largest solar park to begin in 2023May 19, 2022 - 13:31 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Work on the establishment of the largest solar park in Armenia will begin in a few months, Hayk Tadevosyan, a specialist of the Armenian National Interest Foundation (ANIF), told journalists on Thursday, May 19, Sputnik Armenia reports. In cooperation with the fund (which attracts investment projects to Armenia on the basis of public-private partnership), the UAE-government owned renewable energy company Masdar is investing in the construction of a 200-MW solar park. Named Ayg-1, the station will be built near the village of Ashnak and become the largest ones in the country. ANIF and the investors are planning to start drafting the station at the end of 2022 or at the beginning of 2023, and put it into operation by 2025. "We want to start the project in a few months, and Arab investors are considering the possibility of building another station," Tadevosyan added. In 2019, Masdar and the Armenian National Interest Fund CJSC (ANIF) entered a joint development agreement to add 400 MW of solar PV capacity in Armenia, half of which will come from said project.
