Armenia working to diversify weapons acquisition, says PM![]() November 12, 2022 - 13:32 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia is working to diversify the acquisition of weapons and military equipment, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in an interview with the Public TV on Friday, November 11. The journalist conducting the interview recalled media publications about weapons deals with India, to which Pashinyan said the government will make a statement if there's a need to notify the public about the results. The Prime Minister said earlier that Armenia had paid hundreds of millions of dollars to a country for weapons delivery but that said country was failing to deliver the products. On Friday, Pashinyan said the matter was still under discussion. "No, unfortunately [the issue] has not been resolved to date. But discussions are ongoing," he added. The Armenian Ministry of Defense recently terminated a contract with the Jordanian company Jadara Equipment & Defence Systems Co for the supply of weapons. A letter signed by Deputy Defense Minister Karen Brutyan was published on the website of the Armenian Finance Ministry on November 2. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
