Armenia confirms participation in BRICS summit in Russia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia will take part in the BRICS summit in Russia in October, Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan told a briefing on Wednesday, September 4.

"Yes, the Armenian side will participate," he said in response to a journalist's question.

A large-scale summit will take place at the end of October in the city of Kazan.

Earlier, Russian officials said that leaders of CIS countries had been invited to the summit. Leaders of a number of countries not part of the organization will also attend. In particular, the participation of the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been confirmed.
