Armenia, Italy talk regional peace, ties with EU![]() September 24, 2024 - 10:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly on Monday, September 23. According to a statement from the press service of the Armenian Ministry, the two discussed regional developments. The steps undertaken by Armenia in the direction of establishing peace in the South Caucasus were touched upon. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that Armenia has a clear position and political will to sign the peace treaty with Azerbaijan in the shortest timeframe, which was the aim of the latest proposal sent by Armenia to Baku regarding the draft peace treaty. Minister Mirzoyan stressed that Armenia’s vision of ensuring stability in the region is based on unconditional respect for territorial integrity, principles of inviolability of borders, as well as initiatives aimed at fostering economic interconnectivity. The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Italy also touched upon the prospects of deepening the Armenia-EU partnership. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
