Opposition figure Edgar Ghazaryan faces up to 5 years in prison

PanARMENIAN.Net - Former official and public figure Edgar Ghazaryan faces charges that could lead to a five-year prison sentence. A court will decide on pretrial measures.

Lawyer Ruben Melikyan, who accompanied public and political figure Edgar Ghazaryan at the Investigative Committee, announced that Ghazaryan has been formally charged, facing a potential prison sentence of up to five years. Melikyan shared the information on his Facebook page.

The court hearing is scheduled for February 22 at the Masiv court, where the pretrial measures will be determined.

On his Facebook page, Ghazaryan stated that such actions will not silence him but will have the opposite effect.

Earlier, Ghazaryan revealed that he had been summoned to the Investigative Committee’s Department for the Investigation of Serious Crimes in Yerevan for questioning.
