Economic activity in Armenia grows 7.1% in January

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s economic activity index rose 7.1% in January 2025 compared to the same month in the previous year. However, there was a 45.3% decline from December, according to data from the Statistical Committee of Armenia.

Industrial production in January 2025 fell by 10.4% compared to January 2024, while construction volumes increased by 11.6%.

Trade turnover saw a 9.9% rise, and the volume of services provided grew by 12.6%, Armenpress reports.

The consumer price index in January 2025 increased by 1.7% year-on-year, while industrial production prices rose by 2.8%.

Electricity production recorded a 7.8% increase.

At the same time, foreign trade turnover dropped 40% compared to January 2024. Exports fell by 49.2%, and imports declined by 33.5%.

The average exchange rate of the Armenian dram against the U.S. dollar in January 2025 was 397.89 drams per dollar.
