No exam needed for Armenian citizens to swap foreign driving licenses

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian government has approved a decision allowing Armenian citizens to exchange their foreign driver's licenses for a national one without taking qualification exams. The decision was made during a regular cabinet meeting based on a proposal by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

This change aims to eliminate administrative barriers for dual citizens, enabling them to drive in Armenia without complications, according to Armenpress.

Additionally, citizens who obtained their licenses abroad will no longer face administrative penalties as long as their permits comply with international standards.

Previously, Armenian law did not allow citizens to drive with foreign licenses, creating challenges for dual nationals and those temporarily visiting the country.

The new decision is expected to resolve this issue, ensuring greater freedom of movement and simplifying the recognition process for Armenian citizens’ driving rights.
