Mirzoyan: Some Armenian lands remain under Azerbaijani control

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has stated that peace is the only viable path for Armenia’s existence.

"Peace and the normalization of relations with Azerbaijan align with Armenia’s interests," he said, as reported by Radar.am .

Mirzoyan also addressed the issue of certain Armenian sovereign territories remaining under Azerbaijani military control.

"There are Armenian territories currently under the control of Azerbaijani forces, including areas near Jermuk. At the same time, there are Azerbaijani territories under Armenian control," he noted.

The Armenian Foreign Ministry announced that it has accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals regarding two previously unresolved articles, making the peace agreement ready for signing. Armenia is now prepared to initiate consultations on the timeline and location for the agreement’s signing.

The draft peace agreement consists of 17 articles, 15 of which had already been agreed upon. The two previously unresolved issues were the mutual renunciation of international claims and the non-deployment of foreign representatives along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.
