Hovhannisyan, Benešík discuss Armenia-EU relations

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan met with a delegation led by Ondřej Benešík, Chairman of the European Affairs Committee of the Czech Parliament's Chamber of Deputies, in Yerevan. The discussion focused on expanding Armenia-European Union relations, with Hovhannisyan emphasizing Czech Republic's continued support in this direction.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of Armenian-Czech parliamentary dialogue, highlighting the crucial role of legislators in strengthening interstate relations.

Hovhannisyan presented Armenia's "Crossroads of Peace" initiative and briefed the delegation on the latest developments in the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process.

The meeting also addressed various regional and international issues of mutual interest.

On February 12, Armenia’s National Assembly approved the first reading of a bill initiating the country's EU accession process. The Armenian government endorsed the proposal on January 9, following a submission by the Eurovote civic initiative. The bill is set for further parliamentary discussions.
