The final event of the Manouchian Week dedicated to the memory of Missak Manouchian highlighted his struggle, resistance, and legacy.
On this occasion, the European Union’s ambassador, Vassilis Maragos, stated: “Missak Manouchian, an Armenian by origin, survived and found refuge in France, where he became a hero of the Resistance Movement during World War II. Fighting against Nazi occupation, he demonstrated that the love for freedom knows no borders,” reports 1lurer.am.
According to the ambassador, Manouchian’s life has become a symbol of the universal struggle for justice and dignity. His legacy plays a crucial role in preserving collective memory, valuing resistance and solidarity, and promoting intercultural dialogue, serving as an inspiration for future generations.
The Manouchian Week program was carried out with the support of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Yerevan Municipality, the EU Delegation to Armenia, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, and the Municipality of Lyon, in collaboration with the SATE - ATGH theater union and the ART - IMAGE cultural organization.
