Pashinyan says ready to sign peace treaty with Azerbaijan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page that he is ready to sign a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"The draft peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan has been finalized and is awaiting signing. I am ready to put my signature on this document," he wrote.

The Armenian Foreign Ministry stated that it has accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals regarding the two previously unresolved articles and that the peace agreement is ready for signing. Armenia is prepared to start consultations on the timing and location of the signing. However, Baku has set new preconditions and stated that it is too early to discuss meeting dates.

The peace agreement consists of 17 provisions, 15 of which had already been agreed upon. The unresolved points included the mutual renunciation of international claims against each other and the non-deployment of foreign representatives on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.
