Armenia will appoint a defense attaché to its permanent mission to the United Nations, according to a decision made at a government meeting.
The attaché will oversee military and defense policy coordination with the UN, facilitate cooperation, and propose development initiatives. The role is expected to strengthen Armenia’s engagement with the UN Department of Peace Operations (DPO), potentially expanding the country’s peacekeeping contributions.
Additionally, the attaché will represent Armenia’s military and defense priorities, ensuring its strategic perspectives are reflected in international security discussions.
