Gunfire reported overnight in Khnatsakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - Two bursts of gunfire were heard overnight in the village of Khnatsakh, alarming residents and damaging two rooftops.

According to News.am , reporter Gayane Aleksanyan was present in Khnatsakh during the incident and recorded the sounds of gunfire. The shots were heard at 10:22 p.m. and 12:15 a.m., with no further gunfire reported during the night.

In the morning, villagers discovered that the roofs of two homes had been pierced by bullets. Family members reported hearing noise during the night but only realized the damage in daylight.

Residents of Khnatsakh remained awake through most of the night, fearing the situation could escalate.

Member of Parliament Narek Ghahramanyan from the Civil Contract faction commented on the shootings in Syunik by Azerbaijani forces during a parliamentary interview. He acknowledged growing concern but assured there was no immediate threat. He noted that similar incidents involving warning shots fired into the air by both Armenian and Azerbaijani forces have occurred since the 2000s.

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia stated that gunfire recorded along the border usually does not directly target Armenian territory.
