Wake Up Movement urges opposition to launch impeachment

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Wake Up Movement has called on opposition forces to initiate an impeachment process, describing it as the only genuine path toward a change in power. The statement criticizes those opposition groups that are pinning their hopes on elections in 2026, 2031, 2036, and beyond, noting that developments in Gyumri reveal the ruling regime’s true stance on elections.

According to the movement, the ongoing political repression through fabricated criminal cases reflects the unchanging nature of Nikol Pashinyan’s government—one that will not transform by the time of future elections.

The statement claims that in every future electoral cycle, the authorities will easily fabricate phone call scenarios to arrest opposition candidates, campaign staff, and anyone seen as unfriendly to the regime. It warns that any opposition faction that passively waits for the next election becomes complicit in perpetuating the regime and all the disasters it brings.

The movement stresses that the public is no longer asleep—it sees through the simulated activism of certain opposition figures and their appetite for securing a few seats in 2026. At the same time, the public is ready for decisive, effective resistance and real political change.

“We condemn the repressions against opposition candidate Martun Grigoryan in Gyumri and call on the opposition to initiate the impeachment process—currently the only viable route to regime change. If not, the ruling regime’s repressions will intensify and go unpunished in 2026, 2031, 2036, and all elections to come,” the statement says.

The Anti-Corruption Committee confirmed that searches were conducted at the offices of the Our City and Mother Armenia alliances in Gyumri as part of investigations into alleged vote-buying. Members from both alliances have been detained.
