The death toll from the devastating earthquake in Myanmar has climbed to 1,002, while 2,376 people have sustained varying degrees of injuries. Many are still considered missing. Rescue operations are ongoing, but local resources remain insufficient to clear the debris completely. On March 28, a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 struck Myanmar, followed by a 6.4 aftershock. The tremors were also felt in neighboring Thailand, China, Bangladesh, India, and Laos.
