Azerbaijan fires on civilian areas, Armenian MP says

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan has been systematically violating the ceasefire for over ten days, creating fear and disruption for residents of border communities, MP Tigran Abrahamyan wrote on Facebook. Despite this, he claims, the Armenian government either remained silent or offered absurd commentary.

According to Abrahamyan, only the seriousness of the situation has now compelled the authorities to inform the public that Azerbaijani forces are not only firing at military positions but also at civilian settlements. As evidence, he cited a recent incident in the village of Khnatsakh, describing it as irrefutable proof.

In a previous post, Abrahamyan reported that Azerbaijan continues to breach the ceasefire agreement during nighttime hours with sporadic gunfire.

He further stated that in addition to shifting blame for ceasefire violations onto Armenia, Azerbaijan has also accused the Armenian Ministry of Defense of drone activity. While there is little visible Azerbaijani movement at the frontline, he noted that it is difficult to assess the situation deeper behind enemy lines.

Nevertheless, Abrahamyan emphasized that Azerbaijan’s coordinated actions along the front line continue, albeit with low intensity.

Since March 16, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense has been disseminating disinformation multiple times daily, alleging gunfire from the Armenian side. These claims have been consistently denied by Armenia’s Ministry of Defense and refuted by the EU monitoring mission as well.
