Magnitude 3.5 earthquake hits near Armenia–Georgia border

PanARMENIAN.Net - On April 1 at 13:56 local time (09:56 GMT), the Seismological Network of Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs Seismic Protection Service recorded a magnitude 3.5 earthquake 13 km southeast of Bavra village, in the Armenia–Georgia border zone. The hypocenter was located at a depth of 10 km.

The intensity of the tremor in the epicentral zone reached 4–5 on the MSK scale.

The quake was felt in several settlements of Shirak Province, including the city of Gyumri, and the villages of Bavra, Saragyugh, Tavshut, Ghazanchi, Musayelyan, and Amasia with an intensity of 3. In Lori Province, in the town of Tashir, the intensity reached 2–3.

The seismic tremor was recorded at geographic coordinates 41.10° N latitude and 43.96° E longitude.
