Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan steps down![]() April 4, 2025 - 16:26 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Paruyr Hovhannisyan has been dismissed from his position as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed the corresponding decision. “Guided by Part 1 of Article 9 of the Law on Public Service, Paruyr Hovhannisyan is hereby relieved of the post of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs,” the decision states. Hovhannisyan had been serving as deputy minister since November 9, 2021. According to some media reports, Paruyr Hovhannisyan is expected to be appointed Armenia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations. Between 1998 and 2001, Paruyr Hovhannisyan served as third secretary at Armenia’s Permanent Mission to the UN, later becoming second secretary. From 2001 to 2005, he headed the International Economic Organizations Division of the Foreign Ministry’s Department of International Economic Cooperation. Between 2005 and 2010, he was Deputy Head of the Armenian Mission to the European Union. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
