Wrestler Arman Andreasyan reaches European Championship final

PanARMENIAN.Net - Arman Andreasian has secured another victory and advanced to the final of the European Wrestling Championship held in Bratislava, Slovakia.

According to the Wrestling Federation, Andreasian defeated a Georgian wrestler in his semifinal match.

In the final, he will face David Baev, who represents the Russian Federation (UWW).

Earlier, Vazgen Tevanyan suffered a narrow 2-3 loss to a Russian opponent in the quarterfinals. Manvel Khndzrtsyan was defeated 1-4 in his opening match, also by a Russian wrestler. In the 79 kg category, Hayk Papikyan lost 0-10 to a Ukrainian competitor in his first bout.

The freestyle wrestling team also includes four-time European champion Arsen Harutyunyan in the 61 kg category and Narek Harutyunyan in the 74 kg division.

Starting April 11, the Greco-Roman wrestlers will take to the mats. Led by Armen Babalaryan, the squad will include Manvel Khachatryan (55 kg), Karapet Manvelyan (60 kg), Karen Aslanyan (63 kg), Slavik Galstyan (67 kg), Shant Khachatryan (72 kg), Malkhas Amoyan (77 kg), Samvel Grigoryan (82 kg), Karen Khachatryan (87 kg), Artur Aleksanyan (97 kg), and David Ovasapyan (130 kg).
