‘Victims’ in Vardanyan trial say wounds came from combat

PanARMENIAN.Net - During the April 8 session of the politically motivated trial in Baku against former State Minister of Artsakh Ruben Vardanyan, the so-called "victims" testified about injuries they sustained during combat operations.

They admitted under oath that they know Vardanyan solely from media and social networks, according to Trend.

It was reported that Vardanyan has been provided with a Russian-language interpreter and the lawyer of his choice. His lawyer stated a request to review court hearing transcripts again, to which the judge replied that such conditions would be arranged.

The next court session is scheduled for April 15.

U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz has stated that he urged Hikmet Hajiyev, Azerbaijan’s National Security Advisor, to release prisoners and finalize the peace treaty with Armenia.

Ruben Vardanyan’s attorney Jared Genser has called on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan to closely examine the statements by U.S. President Donald Trump and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.
