Chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Defense and Security, Andranik Kocharyan, met on April 8 with representatives from NATO’s liaison office to discuss the current directions and future prospects of cooperation.
During the meeting with Alexander Vinnikov, head of NATO’s liaison office in Georgia, and political officer Arkadiusz Legieć, several key issues on the Armenia-NATO partnership agenda were addressed.
In particular, discussions focused on ongoing partnership programs between Armenia and NATO, international and regional security challenges, and the measures being taken in these areas. The parties also addressed reforms within the Armenian Armed Forces, prospects for deeper cooperation in democratic reforms, and educational programs within the military sector.
The officials also touched upon ongoing discussions surrounding a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations.
