Our City alliance leader declines Gyumri council mandate![]() April 14, 2025 - 13:32 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Martun Grigoryan, the top candidate of the Our City alliance and a current member of the National Assembly representing the I Have Honor faction, has declined his city council mandate in Gyumri, according to Pastinfo. Following local self-government elections in Gyumri, the Election Commission convened to register elected council members and process two withdrawal requests. Alongside Grigoryan, Susanna Mkrtchyan, third on the list of the My Strong Community party, also renounced her mandate. The city council’s first official session is scheduled for April 16, during which members will elect the new mayor. On April 4, Grigoryan announced that his alliance would secure enough votes to ensure the election of Vardan Ghukasyan as Gyumri’s mayor. He emphasized that the ruling Civil Contract party no longer holds power in the city. Our City stated in its announcement: “We will provide the necessary number of votes to support Vardan Ghukasyan, the candidate backed by the other two forces, without demanding any position, expectations, or conditions.” ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
