The competition is taking place in Chișinău, Moldova. Grigoryan, coached by Kristine Petrosyan, lifted 85 kg in the snatch, placing sixth in that discipline. She then excelled in the clean and jerk with a lift of 117 kg, securing the gold medal in that segment. Her total of 202 kg earned her the overall silver medal, according to the Armenian Weightlifting Federation. Meanwhile, Garnik Cholakyan captured his first senior-level medal, winning bronze. Competing in the 61 kg category and coached by Aleksan Karapetyan, Cholakyan lifted 124 kg in the snatch, which earned him the silver medal for that discipline. In the clean and jerk, he managed 151 kg, placing fourth. His total result was 275 kg. The head coach of Armenia’s men’s national team is Pashik Alaverdyan, with Hakob Pilosyan as assistant coach.
