Artsakh parliament passes constitutional amendment

PanARMENIAN.Net - On April 15, the members of the National Assembly of Artsakh convened a session and unanimously adopted a draft amendment to the constitution aimed at ensuring the uninterrupted operation of state institutions. The information was confirmed by Member of Parliament Metakse Hakobyan, according to News.am.

Hakobyan stated that the purpose of the amendment is to establish legal mechanisms that guarantee the continuous functioning of government bodies under extraordinary circumstances.

“The point is to provide constitutional and legal solutions for various unusual situations. The new wording allows state institutions to operate in any force majeure scenario without being later deemed illegitimate. These changes comprehensively protect the state apparatus. I hope today’s session will serve as an impetus for both the parliament and the presidency to become more resilient,” Hakobyan said.

She noted that 30 deputies participated in the session and the amendment was adopted unanimously.
