Karabakh movement will not continue, says Pashinyan

Responding to former President Serzh Sargsyan's claim that a power grab occurred in 2018, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told reporters that Sargsyan should remember what he himself said at the time.

“Let Serzh Sargsyan remember what he was saying in 2018,” Pashinyan stated, as reported by Aysor.am .

He also emphasized that the Karabakh movement will not continue in Armenia. “I have said that the Karabakh movement will not continue in Armenia,” the Prime Minister reiterated, underlining that the movement has no continuation within the country.

Sargsyan made his initial comments during a meeting dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Republican Party of Armenia. Addressing accusations that the party helped bring Pashinyan to power, Sargsyan said he had once put it bluntly at a party congress: he did not force anyone “to go kiss the loudest braying donkey’s forehead.”

“That phrase seems to have stuck to them,” Sargsyan added. “And now, considering recent developments, I want to continue: ‘Don’t tie the donkey you kissed to our door.’ Everyone is responsible for the donkey whose forehead they kissed.”
