Ruling Civil Contract Party MP Vahagn Aleksanyan stated that by electing Vardan Ghukasyan as mayor, the opposition has effectively delivered Gyumri “a bouquet of gang rapes, murders, and criminal cases” this spring.
“You walked over everything possible to deliver that bouquet,” he said, as quoted by Auroranews.am .
Addressing opposition female MPs, he urged them to visit Gyumri without fear, implying they should witness the consequences of the election outcome firsthand.
“Dear opposition women MPs, you can freely go to Gyumri, wear skirts there. To your relief, Civil Contract holds power in Armenia, and all the passions of your political ideal will be curbed by every state leverage,” he declared.
Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan added: “Let me also say this—the male representatives of the ARF can also safely go to the bathroom.”
Earlier, Vardan Ghukasyan had stated to reporters: “Are the girls not sinning? Dressed beautifully, with bare legs, they tempt men.”
