Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and OSCE Secretary-General Feridun Sinirlioglu discussed Armenia-Azerbaijan peace efforts, emphasizing that the draft agreement on peace and inter-state relations is already finalized.
Mirzoyan underlined the importance of signing the agreement and addressed Armenia’s positions regarding the OSCE Minsk Group. He also presented Armenia’s constructive proposals on other components of the peace process.
During their discussion on unblocking regional communications, both sides highlighted the South Caucasus’ potential as a transit hub and the importance of capitalizing on existing opportunities.
“This perspective underpins the Armenian government's ‘Crossroads of Peace’ initiative,” Mirzoyan added.
The two also exchanged views on the normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations.
*Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has repeatedly stated that the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement draft has been finalized and awaits signing. He has invited the Azerbaijani President to begin consultations on this matter.
On March 13, Armenia's Foreign Ministry announced it accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals regarding the two previously unresolved articles, confirming that the peace agreement is ready to be signed. Armenia has expressed readiness to discuss the time and venue for signing, while Baku has introduced new preconditions, claiming it is too early to set a date for the meeting.*
