  Armenian President to attend Pope Francis funeral April 25, 2025 - 13:31 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan has departed for the Vatican, where he will attend the funeral ceremony of His Holiness Pope Francis on April 26, according to the Armenian Presidential Office. Earlier, the Vatican released Pope Francis’ will, in which he requested a modest funeral without formal honors, asking to be buried in the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. Heads of state from around the world are expected to attend. Special flights are planned from Argentina, the Pope’s birthplace. Catholicos of All Armenians is also expected to participate.
