In the first quarter of 2025, Armenia's economic activity index increased by 4.1% compared to the same period in the previous year, according to the Ministry of Finance. Growth was observed across nearly all major sectors, particularly in agriculture, industry, and construction.
Agriculture experienced a 10.5% growth, industry expanded by 18.5%, and construction volumes rose by 13.6%. The trade sector saw a 6% increase, while services grew by 11.5%.
Despite these positive indicators, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has revised its growth forecast for Armenia's economy, now anticipating a rise of 4.5% by the end of 2025, down from the previous estimate of 4.9%. The IMF projects that Armenia's economy will continue to grow at the same rate of 4.5% in 2026. Additionally, analysts from the IMF predict that inflation in Armenia will reach 3.3% in 2025, easing slightly to 3% in 2026. For comparison, the Armenian government's state budget for 2025 anticipates economic growth of 5.1%, with inflation projected at 3% (±1%).
