Economy and infrastructure ministers meet residents in Syunik villages

Armenia’s Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan visited Syunik Province to assess the situation in the village of Khndzoresk, part of the Tegh community, and to familiarize themselves with daily life and residents’ needs.

The ministers spent the night in Khndzoresk, met with villagers in the morning, answered their concerns, and then continued meetings in the villages of Vaghatour and Khoznavar.

They were accompanied by Syunik Governor Robert Ghukasyan, Member of Parliament Narek Ghahramanyan, and Tegh Community Leader Davit Ghulunts, according to the statement.

During the meetings, Gevorg Papoyan emphasized that the government stands by its citizens and is ready to take necessary steps for the development of communities and ensuring economic stability.

In discussions with the villagers, the minister reiterated that establishing stable and lasting peace is the primary condition for the development of communities, especially those located near the border. The residents expressed their support for these efforts, highlighting the crucial role peace plays in advancing their communities.

Gunfire incidents have become frequent near Khndzoresk village in Syunik. A residential house was damaged. On April 13 at around 22:20, Azerbaijani Armed Forces units opened fire toward Khndzoresk village in Syunik, damaging the village’s cultural center. Gunfire has also been reported near other nearby villages.
