PanARMENIAN.Net - On May 2, Armenia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Paruyr Hovhannisyan, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres. During the meeting, Hovhannisyan highlighted Armenia’s ongoing and consistent efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.

He emphasized the urgency of signing the already agreed-upon peace and interstate relations agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan without delay. He also stressed the strategic significance of Armenia’s Crossroads of Peace project, aimed at unlocking the full connectivity and infrastructure potential of the South Caucasus.

Reaffirming Armenia’s commitment to deepening cooperation with the UN, Hovhannisyan outlined steps already taken by the Armenian government to host the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the Convention on Biological Diversity in 2026.

The meeting also included discussions on various regional and international agenda items.
