Armenian envoy, U.S. senator discuss strategic ties![]() October 8, 2025 - 12:40 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Ambassador to the United States Narek Mkrtchyan held a meeting with U.S. Senator Steve Daines to discuss prospects for enhancing the Armenia–U.S. strategic partnership. The two officials reviewed key items on the bilateral agenda and explored opportunities to expand cooperation of a strategic nature. They also discussed the outcomes of the August 8 trilateral summit in Washington and the documents signed as part of that meeting. Attention was also given to new interregional cooperation platforms being developed under the TRIPP program. Ambassador Mkrtchyan expressed gratitude to Senator Daines for his support and initiatives aimed at fostering peace in the South Caucasus. On August 8, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a joint Declaration at the White House. In their presence, the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan initialed a draft agreement on peace and inter-state relations. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
