Tremors from Turkey quake reach Armenia![]() April 4, 2026 - 13:02 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - An earthquake that occurred near the city of Van in Turkey was also felt in Yerevan, as well as in the Shirak and Ararat regions, with an intensity of 2 points, Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reported. “On April 4 at 09:52 local time (05:52 GMT), the seismological network of the Territorial Seismic Protection Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia recorded an earthquake 40 km north of the city of Van, Turkey, with a magnitude of 5.2 and a focal depth of 7 km,” the statement said. The intensity of the underground tremor at the epicenter reached 7 points. The seismic event was recorded at geographic coordinates of 38.83° north latitude and 43.54° east longitude. As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
