Albania backs lasting peace in South Caucasus

PanARMENIAN.Net - Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Igli Hasani has underscored the importance of sustainable peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, noting that it would enhance predictability in the South Caucasus.

He welcomed steps aimed at establishing peace and highlighted the importance of any credible progress toward consolidating the process, according to 1lurer.am citing Azerbaijani media.

According to him, such peace would contribute to regional development, including in key areas such as energy, connectivity, and European security.

Hasani stressed that achieving long-term peace requires not only political will but also consistent efforts to build trust, increase transparency, resolve disputes, and establish effective mechanisms for regional cooperation.

On August 8, 2025, during a trilateral meeting at the White House involving Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, a joint declaration was signed on the outcomes of the talks.
