Emma Poghosyan wins world youth bronze![]() May 8, 2026 - 12:38 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian women’s weightlifting team member and newly crowned European champion Emma Poghosyan has won a bronze medal at the World Youth Championships. Women competing in the 86 kg category entered the competition on the latest day of the World Youth Championships being held in Egypt, the Armenian Weightlifting Federation reported. In the snatch event, Emma Poghosyan successfully lifted 103 kg, 106 kg and 109 kg overhead. In the clean and jerk, she lifted 137 kg and 144 kg. She finished third in that discipline. With a combined total of 253 kg, Emma Poghosyan became a bronze medalist at the World Youth Championships. Armenia’s Narek Manasyan (92kg) won Armenia’s second silver medal at the European Boxing Championships 2024 on April 28. Armenian gymnast, Olympic bronze medalist Artur Davtyan has reached the finals of the World Cup. Gor Manvelyan has denied reports alleging that he has expressed a desire to one day play for the French national team.
