Russian embassy rejects UK Armenia election claims

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Russian Embassy in the United Kingdom said Britain’s allegations regarding Russian interference in Armenia’s elections are “absurd” and reflect London’s neo-colonial policy, TASS reported.

The embassy stated that London’s policy, which it says previously contributed to “a coup d’état in Kyiv,” is now also directed against Armenia.

“Against the backdrop of a Western European agitational ‘landing force’ in Yerevan, British accusations of interference in Armenia’s elections appear all the more absurd. London’s neo-colonial policy, which had previously contributed to a coup in Kyiv, is now also aimed at Armenia. It is time for the West to stop interfering in the affairs of sovereign states, as was recently done in Moldova and Romania. The pot calling the kettle black,” the diplomatic mission said.

The election campaign that began on May 8 will continue until June 5. June 6 will be observed as a day of silence, while voting will take place on June 7.
