Armenian fighter wins European sambo gold

PanARMENIAN.Net - Gor Harutyunyan, representing Armenia in the 88 kg category at the European Sambo Championships, defeated an Azerbaijani athlete and became European champion in sambo.

Another member of the Armenian national team, Leonid Melikyan, became the European sambo vice-champion, Panorama.am reports.

At the championships underway in Tbilisi, Karen Sargsyan won the European title in the 58 kg category, Mayis Nersesyan became European runner-up in the 64 kg division, while Gevorg Azatyan claimed a bronze medal in the 79 kg weight class.
