Detention motion filed against Arthur Osipyan![]() May 20, 2026 - 11:30 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A motion seeking the pretrial detention of Аrtsakh activist Arthur Osipyan, who argued with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and was later arrested, has been submitted to court. The information was announced on Facebook by lawyer Roman Yeritsyan. “At this moment, Arthur Osipyan is being transferred to court. A short while ago, he was charged under Articles 330 (public calls for violence), 297 (hooliganism) and 211 (obstructing campaigning activities by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code,” Yeritsyan wrote. According to the lawyer, the motion will be reviewed at the Avan court residence, while the identity of the judge has not yet been disclosed. Arthur Osipyan, chairman of the Artsakh Revolutionary Party, was detained on May 18 following an argument with Nikol Pashinyan. Prior to that, he had posted the following message on social media: “If anyone knows where Nikol is, tell me so I can let the fluff fly. He’s drained us dry.” Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
