Rubio, Mirzoyan discuss Armenia elections

PanARMENIAN.Net - U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during a meeting in Yerevan with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, discussed the peace process with Azerbaijan, the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity project, and upcoming elections in Armenia, the U.S. Department of State press service reported.

“The U.S. Secretary of State and Armenia’s foreign minister announced a bilateral framework agreement on TRIPP and signed the Strategic Partnership Charter and a Memorandum of Understanding on Critical Minerals,” the statement said.

It noted that these documents deepened bilateral relations between the countries and advanced the agreements reached between the United States and Armenia during U.S. President Donald Trump’s historic peace summit between Armenia and Azerbaijan on August 8, 2025.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio was in Yerevan on a brief visit on May 26. During the visit, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio signed several documents at Yerevan’s Zvartnots Airport. The strategic cooperation framework agreement on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity project between Armenia and the United States was initialed, and the Charter on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Armenia and the United States was signed.
