Russia suspends sales of 64.5 mln more Jermuk bottles

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russian authorities have introduced additional restrictions on Jermuk mineral water after identifying regulatory non-compliance.

Rospotrebnadzor, the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare, instructed the operator of the Chestny Znak (Honest label) labeling system to suspend the circulation of another 64.5 million bottles of Jermuk mineral water.

The decision followed the detection of violations of mandatory technical regulations. According to RIA Novosti, the levels of bicarbonate ions, chlorides and sulfates exceeded permissible limits.

Rospotrebnadzor stated that these discrepancies could affect the water’s medicinal properties and potentially pose risks to consumer health.

Since the beginning of 2026, at Rospotrebnadzor’s request, the Chestny Znak system has already blocked the sale of 38.4 million units of Jermuk bottled water in retail chains and online stores.
