Pashinyan says exports reach new markets

PanARMENIAN.Net - The first shipments of Armenian roses and vegetables have already been sent to new markets, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said while responding to a question about which countries had agreed to receive Armenian products affected by restrictions in the Russian market.

Asked whether he was referring to the European Union or other destinations, the prime minister replied: “The European Union and others,” according to Armenpress.

According to Pashinyan, several business delegations have already begun operating in new markets.

“Today, several of our business delegations are already working, and the first shipments of roses and vegetables have already left. Once they arrive, I will say which countries they have gone to,” the prime minister stated.

Pashinyan also expressed confidence that there would be no problems with the sale of Armenian products.

“No product will be left unsold. They are already being exported in other directions,” he said.

Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) announced that from June 2 it had imposed temporary restrictions on imports of cherries, sweet cherries, apricots, plums, peaches, nectarines and grapes from Armenia. Earlier, restrictions had also been imposed on a number of vegetable crops exported from Armenia.

Russia has also banned imports of Armenian Jermuk mineral water, flowers, fish products and certain alcoholic beverages.
