«UNION OF ARMENIANS OF RUSSIA» LEADERS TO VISIT KRASNODAR TERRITORY TO DISCUSS ISSUE ON RIGHTS OF ARMENIANS RESIDING IN KUBAN WITH LOCAL AUTHORITIES

PanARMENIAN.Net - Being displeased with the current situation of the Armenians residing in Kuban, the «Union of Armenians of Russia» leadership has made a decision to visit Krasnodar Territory April 22 and to hold negotiations with the local administration. As the Union informational-analytic center head Gayane Abrahamian has stated in her interview with «Arminfo» agency correspondent, the delegation headed by the President of the Organization Ara Abramyan will include famous representatives of scientific and art intelligentsia of Moscow and South regions of Russia. The leaders of the Union hope the visit will make the situation less tense and will stop the forthcoming mass deportation of the Armenian population residing there. It should be reminded, according to the Russian sources, the initiator of the deportation of foreigners from Kuban is the governor of Krasnodar Territory Alexander Tkachev, who, due to evasion of the federal legislation, rushed a number of laws and terms to toughen the migration regulations. Tkachov has alluded to «great» support of his actions in the direction of President Putin, but the administration of the head of the Russian State has refuted these conjectures spreading the statement that «the President has not given Tkachev any permission to violate the federal legislation». As Gayane Abrahamyan has reported, according to the reporters, the governor of the Territory, decided to hold the talks with Armenian President Robert Kocharian on the issue of repatriation of Armenians and according to his own words, «in order to keep the position of the friendly republic in Transcaucasia».
