GEORGIA OFFERED RUSSIA TO SECURE RECONSTRUCTION WORKS ON ABKHAZIAN RAILWAY

PanARMENIAN.Net - Georgian leadership intends to appeal to Russia with the request to provide security of the reconstruction works on the Abkhazian railway. As reported by "Arminfo" agency according to Georgian railways chief engineer Tengiz Donadze's statement, the security of the reconstruction of the Abkhazian railway sector may be provided by the CIS collective forces for the peace maintenance in the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict region. In his words, this matter will be discussed at the meeting of the Russian and Georgian railway departments' representatives June 26-27. The meeting will be held in the light of the agreements on the issue of the railway traffic reconstruction through the Abkhazian territory achieved by Vladimir Putin and Eduard Shevarnadze in Sochi. It should be noted that the present issue was discussed between the general director of the "Georgian Railways" Anaki Chkhaidze and the Russian communications minister deputy Gasan Zyabirov in the course of the yesterday meeting in Tbilisi. As A. Chkhaidze told journalists after the meeting, considering the extremely complicated technical situation at the Inguri-Vesyoloe sector it will take at least year and a half to reconstruct the Cochi-Tbilisi railway communication.
