Official Yerevan invited to Ukrainian president’s inauguration

Republic of Armenia received Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s invitation to participate in the inauguration ceremony of newly-elected president Viktor Yanukovych.



As RA President’s spokesman Samvel Farmanyan , told PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, the level Armenia will be represented at during inauguration ceremony will become known shortly.



Ukraine’s Central Election Commission announced Viktor Yanukovych as the winner of the February 7 presidential election. The commission said Mr. Yanukovych had prevailed over his opponent Yulia Tymoshenko by 3.48 percentage points, or 887 909 votes.



Mrs. Tymoshenko, who garnered 45.47 percent of the vote, said she will not concede and asserted that Mr. Yanukovych’s campaign had used extensive fraud to steal the election. She pledged to overturn it through legal means.



Meanwhile, presidential inauguration is scheduled for February 25.
