RUSSIAN COUNCIL OF FEDERATION RATIFIED TREATY ON PASSING ARMENIAN PROPERTY TO CLEAR STATE DEBT TO RUSSIAMay 29, 2003 - 23:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Council of Federation of Russia has ratified the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on passing the property of Armenian state property on account of clearing the debt for state credits rendered by the Russian government to Armenia. It is noteworthy that the accord on the order of passing the property on the account of paying off Armenian state debt to Russia making $93 million was signed in Yerevan July 2002. According to the document, Russia will own shares of CJSC "Mars," Yerevan research institute of mathematical machines, Yerevan research institute of automated management systems, institute of the science of materials and the property of the Hrazdan thermoelectric power station. As stated by co-chair of the Russian-Armenian commission on economic cooperation, Russian minister of industry, science and technologies Ilya Klebanov, resulting from realization of the agreement Russia will become the owner of the most important part of the Armenian infrastructure - its electric energy system, which establishes very powerful economic influence of Russia in the territory of Armenia.Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert.
