As Alexander Iskandaryan stated in a conversation with PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, “at present, the replacement of the current format by Georgia cannot be seriously considered.” In an interview to ANS Azerbaijani TV channel, Grigol Vashadze stressed Georgia’s interest in rapid resolution of the conflict, expressing readiness to act as mediator. Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Nino Kalandadze denied the statement of Foreign Minister Vashadze, circulated by Azeri media. “I never heard Minister Vashadze’s statement on Karabakh issue. However, as far as I’m informed, the Minister never mentioned Georgia’s interest in acting as a mediator in Karabakh conflict settlement,” Kalandadze noted.
