Expert: Saakashvili’s visit to Armenia important but not revolutionaryJanuary 19, 2011 - 14:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia and Cyprus enjoy friendly relations, what was once again proved during the Armenian President’s state visit, an expert said. “In his address, President Sargsyan accented three major problems: the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, Baku’s threats of war and normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations,” Alexander Iskandaryan told a news conference on January 19. He noted that nothing new is expected in Karabakh talks during the current year. As to Armenian-Turkish reconciliation, the expert emphasized that no progress will be fixed before the parliamentary elections in Turkey. Asked to comment on the forthcoming visit of the Georgian President to Armenia, Iskandaryan said that resolution of problems in bilateral relations will dominate the agenda. “This visit will be important but not revolutionary,” he said.
