Hrant Dink’s niece Lusin Dink will make a film about William SaroyanApril 20, 2011 - 17:02 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Young filmmaker Lusin Dink, the niece of a famous journalist Hrant Dink murdered by Turkish radicals, will create a Journey to Bitlis film, featuring William Saroyan’s trip to Bitlis in 1964. The project of the film was announced a winner at Istanbul-hosted Armenia-Turkey film platform on promotion of documentaries and awarded with a prize of USD 30000 instituted by Eurasia Partnership Foundation. Archive materials and photos will be used in a film drawing on Saroyan’s short stories, with a road to Bitlis to be used as film set. Cooperation with Armenian animators in the course of film creation is planned. Ara Aivazian said Azerbaijan continues the traditions of Turkey after seizing territories and forced Armenians out.
